In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, everyone is BUSY! Sometimes we are just lucky to “make Christmas happen.” This year to make your Christmas even more special try being intentional. Here are three ways (you guessed it!) to be intentional.
Be Intentional with Your Faith
Being intentional with you faith is not showing up to every single single event that your church is having because in most cases they were not designed for everyone to be at every event. Being intentional with your faith is keeping the “reason for the season” in the forefront. Why do we celebrate Christmas? Because of Christ. Keep Christ at the forefront of your mind, but be intentional about keeping it in front of your kids. For kids, most of the time is what do we get for Christmas. Don’t forget to remind them that we celebrate Christmas because of what God gave us in Jesus Christ.
Be Intentional with Your Spouse
I’m sure many thought that I would go straight to family, while that is next it is not on the next importance scale. Being important with your spouse is the next chain because they should be more important than your kids… Yes, I just said that. Take time to spend time in the business to be with your spouse, not just in the same room with them. Take time away from the kids to actually talk and reconnect with them while you have the extra time to do so.
Be Intentional with Your Family
Finally, be intentional with your family. Spend time as a family away from electronics. Enjoy each others company by playing silly games. I highly recommend the whipped cream in the face game. Be silly with each other. Your kids will remember those times more importantly than what they get. And most importantly this is the best time to teach your kids about Jesus and what he did for us. He came to earth as a lowly baby to live a perfect life, to give that live as a ransom for all so that all men can come to know him as personal Lord and Savior.
Merry Christmas,
